Celebrate

Better Together

After settling into their classes, Elementary School students came together for the first assembly of the year

The annual All Together Again assembly is beloved by the entire Elementary Campus community.

In September, Oakwood students, teachers, faculty, staff, and trustees gathered to celebrate our theme of the year: Better Together

Better Together, September 2019

During the momentous K–12 assembly we celebrated our theme of the year, Better Together, which commemorated our unity as one community.

Generations Day welcomed grandparents and special friends to our elementary campus

Families and friends enjoyed musical student performances and classroom visits for a firsthand experience of our school.

In January, Oakwood fans of all ages filled the gym for Spirit Night

A day of community fun ensued, complete with food, music, face-painting, senior athlete recognitions, and—of course—basketball!

Go Oakwood!

Later that month, we celebrated the Lunar New Year

Oakwood students gathered to celebrate the Year of the Rat with food, family presentations, and a jubilant performance by Immortals Lion Dance.

February saw the celebration of Black History Month

Black history is American history, and this year Oakwood celebrated with events that touched on history, STEM, art, and literature.

We explored our shared narrative, highlighting the important cultural, artistic, and scientific contributions made by African, African American, and Multiracial African American people.

The theme of Better Together was fully embraced in March, as our community gathered at the storied Hollywood Palladium

The evening was a once-in-a-lifetime concert and Scholarship Endowment Fund fundraiser to make an Oakwood education possible for current and future generations.
