Shortly after stay-at-home orders went into effect, our Elementary music instructors put together an incredible group performance

The South African hymn Siyahamba by Quarantorchestra brought comfort and camaraderie during the uncertain time of quarantine. It showed us the possibility of remote collaboration and reminded us that we are Better Together.

Safer-at-home orders provided students and teachers the opportunity for new and exciting ways to connect on both campuses

Christy Shelton connected virtually with third grade students to share the Hopi pueblo projects they built at home.

Powered by Zoom and a love of learning, elementary students Coleman and Skyer connected for some fun reading buddy time.

Innovative teachers like Jessie Mobley turned their homes into teaching spaces that brought lessons to students.

Similarly, athletics, performing arts, and the debate team students and teachers explored new ways to engage with their audiences

Oakwood coaches led home workouts to keep everyone fit and active—Go Wood!

One highlight of remote learning was Senior Theatre of the Absurd presentations inspired by the works of Samuel Beckett and Eugène Ionesco. Alexander and Josephine’s piece, performed on Zoom, was a meditation on making connections across distances.

Middle School Debate continued on strong and invented new ways to participate in this signature program at the secondary campus.
